Dear Readers:

Having guided this community newspaper into the 21st Century, I am now leaving the Syosset-Jericho Tribune after nearly three years to pursue new journalistic endeavors.

Last week, having already announced my departure, I assembled the top 10 Tribune stories of 1999. The laborious exercise of sorting through each issue reminded me of the rich diversity of stories that I have covered in Jericho, Syosset and Woodbury.

Your new editor will be Denise D'Alessandro. Please make her feel welcome as she acclimates to her new position.

I thank all of you who embraced my work, appreciated my efforts and enriched me with your knowledge of the area.
