John Carlone Prepares Meadow Brook for Tournament
The Meadow Brook Club golf course, site of the Lightpath Long Island Classic for the 13th straight year, has always been considered a good challenge for the Senior professionals. This year, because of the hot, drought-like conditions on Long Island, the course has also been a formidable challenge to the club's superintendent, John Carlone.

Syosset Youth Football Registration
The Syosset Braves Football Club is holding open enrollment for the next three weeks. The club is available to children ages 5 through 12. Registration is open to residents of Syosset, Jericho, Woodbury, Muttontown, the Brookvilles, Plainview, Old Bethpage, Oyster Bay, East Norwich and Cold Spring Harbor.

Charity Baseball Tournament
Oyster Bay Town Councilman Anthony F. Altimari threw out the ceremonial first ball of a charity softball game between the Inn Between Restaurant in Syosset and WBAB at Theodore Roosevelt Beach in Oyster Bay. All proceeds from this game were donated to cancer research.
