Syosset Little League
The race for the four-team playoffs appears to be focusing on four teams. Conti Auto Body, led by the overpowering pitching of Matthew Rosen and Jim Murphy, jumped to a two-game lead when they defeated runner-up Duo Restaurant 7-3. Rosen aided his own cause by blasting a two-run home run over the right center field fence.

Brookville's David Redman Completes Endurance Run
David Redman of Brookville successfully completed the 1999 edition of the Long Island Endurance 50 Mile Run, which was conducted over the roads of the Towns of Oyster Bay and Huntington last Saturday morning, May 15. Redman completed the tough 50-mile course in eight hours, 47 minutes, 16 seconds, good for 15th place out of the 40 endurance athletes who successfully completed the run.
