Jonathan Wolf's single in the bottom of the fifth inning broke a 2-2 tie to give Center Hardware the lead for good in a tightly-played game against Syosset Exxon. Wolf's hit followed singles by Robert Cortese and Ryan Tancer. Josh Vanderborg pitched shutout ball over the final two innings to secure the victory and a tie for first place in the extremely competitive Major League Division. In the fourth inning, Vanderborg drove in Jason Marchwinski and Jake Ross with Center Hardware's first two runs with a two-out single. Paul Golluscio and Jeffrey Auerbach had key hits for Syosset Exxon.

Earlier in the week, Center Hardware beat Formed Plastic 9-1, led by David Ugelow, Sam Kazenberg and Eric Goldberg. Craig Novak, Jerry Bold and Michael Tannazzo had key hits for Formed Plastic.

Barnett Associates won its two games to keep pace with the Major League leaders. Ryan Barnett pitched another superb game against Duo Restaurant in a 7-3 victory. Matthew Anello and Barnett led the hitting attack. Eric Wagner and Zach Gerakakis contributed key hits for Duo. In an earlier makeup game, Barnett beat Formed Plastic, 6-1.

Duo Restaurant maintained a share of first place with a 12-10 come-from-behind victory over Syosset Exxon. A seven-run fifth inning led by Danny Barcavage's two-run scoring single, and Craig Mason's pitching striking out the side in the final inning, secured the victory.

Kevin Schwartz provided the hitting punch for Syosset Exxon while Matt Avelar and Paul Golluscio pitched effectively.

Conti Auto Body topped Formed Plastic 16-14 in a wild game highlighted by the acrobatic fielding of Scott Klipper and Joseph Schmitt.
