The only thing more exciting this Sunday than the Jets beating the Jaguars was the contest between Sheft Kahn & Company LLP and Sam Ash Corporation.

The game seesawed back and forth with the two evenly matched teams playing very well. Everyone on both sides contributed to their team's efforts. Sam Ash Corporation saw well balanced scoring with five of their eight players getting on the board...Shane Birnbaum (9 points), Spencer Ganz (4 points), Josh Jacobson (4 points), Lucas Paley (2 points), and Evan Kirchblum (2 points). However, points don't tell the whole story and without the strong passing, rebounding, and defense of Jared Bookman, Eric Reitman and Josh Lampert the game never would have been as close as it was.

Sheft Kahn & Company LLP also had five players scoring ... Brian Kahn (11 points), Ben Davis (4 points), Max Rosenberg (3 points), Daniel Wittick (3 points), and Scott Weinberger (2 points). They, also were lucky to get some fine play from Ben Kriegel, Adam Kronengold, John Nia, Brett Novick and Max Rosen. Each of them made some key plays in the game whether setting picks, getting rebounds, making assists or switching well on defense.

However, as in most closely played games this one came down to who got the last shot. With approximately 20 seconds to go in the game and the score tied 21 to 21, Sam Ash tried to work the ball in for a final shot. Unfortunately for them, some great defense by Adam Kronengold and Brett Novick enabled Brett to force a jump ball which gave Sheft Kahn the ball back with 4 seconds left on the clock. Sheft Kahn called a timeout and set-up for a final play. Splendid defense by Sam Ash forced the play to break down and Shane Birnbaum prevented Brian Kahn from driving to the hoop as planned. Brian found himself 15 feet from the basket with 1 second to go and, with no time to dribble any closer, he threw up a shot that banked off the backboard and fell through the net just as the buzzer went off. A more exciting finish couldn't have been planned.
