The Long Island Wheelchair Athletic Club reached out for support once again last month¬this time from the Express 5 Kilometer Run to raise money in support of local wheelchair athletics¬and once again the investment firm of Salomon Smith Barney stepped forward to lend a hand. Salomon Smith Barney donated $2,500 to cover the cost of the T-shirts that were presented to each competitor in the recent run, thus ensuring the event's success.

"Salomon Smith Barney has, once again stepped forward as a business with a heart," said Wheelchair Athletic Club Vice President Nick Katsounis. "They are wonderful people who have time and again proved to be good friends to the disabled here on Long Island."
The funding for the Wheelchair Athletic Club came out of Salomon Smith Barney's New York Suburban Regional office, located in the Jericho Quadrangle in Jericho.
