Irma V. Van Wagner, 92, of Dolgeville, NY, died on May 18, 1998 in Little Falls Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on Feb. 25, 1906 in Sodus, NY, the daughter of Henry and Bernice Weeks Clicquennoi and was educated in schools in Sodus. She continued her education by attending Geneseo State Teachers College and earning her teaching certificate.
Her marriage to Henry Van Wagner took place on July 14, 1936 in Sodus. The couple have celebrated 61 years of marriage.
Mrs. Van Wagner was employed by the Mineola Public School in the junior high math department (7th and 8th grades) for 21 years. She retired from there in 1971 when the couple moved to the Village of Dolgeville. Irma was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Women's Association, the NYS Teachers Association and the Adirondack Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her husband Harry; her son and daughter-in-law John and Vivian Van Wagner of Syosset; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Vincent Godleski of Califon, NJ and Joann and Robert Vetter of Oakdale; a brother Earl Clicquennoi of Newark, NY; her grandchildren, Eric, Kevin and Kristen Godleski and Terry Roman; her great-grandchildren, Aubreigh, Couper and Madison Godleski.
Arrangements were made by the Roberts - Buck Funeral Home, Dolgeville. Funeral services with Rev. Archie Clark officiating. Burial Dolgeville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Dolgeville Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Box 26, Dolgeville, NY 13329.
