This national program gives boys and girls, ages 7 to 14, the chance to showcase their batting, fielding/throwing and base running abilities.
Diamond Skills is intended to encourage youth participation and emphasize the fun element of baseball competition. The Syosset baseball Association is a host organization and is conducting the local competition. Finalists and their families will receive an all expenses-paid trip to the All-Star Game at Coors Field.
Each participant will compete in each of the three components of Diamond Skills, and accumulate a total score based on his or her performance. From each age group, the top scorer will receive a Major League Baseball award ribbon and advance to the Sectional competition.
Registration will take place at Syosset/Woodbury Park on the day of the event. There is no registration fee for this program. Participants will compete in the skills competition in the order that they register. All participants will receive a gift.
