Any new or existing candidates interested in coaching a travel team for the 1998-99 season must submit a written application. Candidates will be contacted regarding an interview date. The applications for the U10B boys' and girls' coaches are due by May 12.

Applications must be received (not postmarked) by April 30, either by mail to:

Applications received after April 30 cannot be considered. Applications may be obtained either from Steve Vida, at 364-3484, or at the Syosset Public Library.

The selection of coaches will be made on May 14.

Tryouts for the 1998-99 U-10 Girls A team will take place at Stillwell Field on Tuesday, April 21 and Thursday, April 23 at 5:30 p.m. Two more tryouts will be held, by invitation only, on Tuesday, April 28 and Friday, May 1at Stillwell Field.

Children wishing to try out should make every attempt to attend the first two tryouts. They will then be notified if they are called back for future tryouts.

All children should bring to each tryout:

* a No. 4 size ball, shin guards, cleats, water or a drink

* a Syosset intramural jersey (reversible)...Girls should wear a tee-shirt under their Syosset jerseys, if the need arises to have them switch colors.

* an index card with the child's name, address, parent or guardian's name and address, and daytime and evening phone numbers.

* four safety pins

If a child wants to try out for goalkeeper position, she should bring goalie gloves and a goalie jersey with her.

Coach Rich Hoda is looking forward to meeting all parents and children. Questions should be directed to him at 364-1422.

Tickets are available for the Lady Riders game, to be played on Saturday, May 16. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. at North Hempstead Park. Tickets are also available for the men's Rough Riders game, to be played on Saturday, May 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Hofstra University. Anyone interested should call Joel Doniger at 933-0853.
