(Ed. Note: The following letter was sent to Craig Siracusa, regional director of the NYS Department of Transportation and is printed here at the writer's request.)

On behalf of Concerned Citizens for 25A, I am writing to thank you for your efforts and success in crafting a solution in the above-referenced matter, that adequately addresses the concerns of all affected parties. This was, as I am sure you came to appreciate, an intricate matter with a number of interests involved. You are to be applauded for your perceptive response and willingness to apply creative engineering concepts in crafting this compromise solution. We trust that these fine efforts will be a model for the handling of future NYSDOT projects.

We look forward to the revised Design Report/Environmental Assessment for the Route 25A reconstruction from Cove Road to Route 108. Upon receipt and review, the accord will be reduced to a Memorandum of Understanding, the stipulations in which will serve as clarification for the protection of all involved parties.

Jean M. Thatcher

Concerned Citizens for 25A

Chairman Sounding Committe
