Alzheimer's Adult Day Health Care Program

At the United Presbyterian Residence, 378 Syosset-Woodbury Rd., Woodbury. Designed to assist families in caring for persons with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. Open 7 days from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Program provides the following services: nursing, recreation therapy, social work, nutrition, rehabilitation therapy, a nutritious lunch and snacks which can accommodate a variety of therapeutic diets, a family support group and transportation to and from the program. Clients may be of any age, wheelchair bound or incontinent. Private pay and Medicaid accepted. For additional information call 921-0517.

Bible Study Group

An interesting and relevant study of the Bible is offered by the Community Church of Syosset, 36 Church St. on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. Led by Rev. Stephen Carnahan, the focus of the group is discussion of how biblical insights apply to daily life. A course at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesdays is possible if you call with your interest. No advance notice is necessary for Tuesday night classes. Just come in.

Support Groups for Parents, Couples, Children

Annual Toy Drive for Hospitalized Children

Volunteers Needed

The LI Division of F.E.G.S., a 63-year-old, not-for-profit multi-service agency, is seeking volunteers. Positions available throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties. F.E.G.S. will train applicants. Defensive Driving Course

Presented by Driver Improvement Programs. Motorists who complete the course who are principal drivers must be given a 10 percent discount on both their automobile liability and collision premiums for three full years. The NYS Dept. of Motor Vehicles will reduce up to four points from the motorist's record for any infractions the motorist has been convicted of in the previous 18 months. Fee is $45. Winter Camp

Concert with jazz pianist and composer Edward Kalendar, a multi-faceted musician from Tashkent, Uzbekistan who has composed over 250 original songs, 24 scores for films, 17 musicals and numerous operas.
