Sophomore Melissa Ugelow, a Roslyn resident and currently a member of Muhlenberg College women’s indoor track and field team, was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for excellence in the classroom and on the track and the All-Centennial Conference sportsmanship team.
To be named to the Academic Honor Roll, a student must be a sophomore or higher in class standing; a starter or key reserve on her team; and carry at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average.
A biochemistry major, Ugelow finished third in the 5,000 at the DeSchriver Invitational. Her time of 19:23.90 was good for seventh on the Mules’ all-time performance list.
The Muhlenberg women finished third at the Centennial Conference Championships for the second straight year and swept the Most Outstanding Performer awards at the meet. The men also finished third, giving the program its best combined showing in four years. Three Mules qualified for the NCAA Championships, with the program sending men’s and women’s individuals to Nationals together for the first time.
