It’s not just the Roslyn High School football team that had a great year this past fall,
The Roslyn Marching Bulldogs continued to add to their reputation as one of the top high school bands in the New York metropolitan area.
Recently, the Marching Bulldogs were thrilled to perform at the US Band National Championships at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. It ended a great year of competition.
“We had a great year in 2013,” said band director, Pat Patterson. “It was the best band we have had, the highest score we have had, second in the State and ninth at the Nationals. The sound, look, guard, pit, winds, dancers and drum line was firing on all cylinders.”
The event at MetLife had bands from around the region and was a particularly stiff competition.
The Marching Bulldogs performed in front of a large crowd and in a great atmosphere of camaraderie and competition.
“Although, we put our equipment away for the rest of this year, the members of the band are gearing up for a trip to Orlando in February where they will perform at Disney’s Magic Kingdom and Epcot,” Patterson added. “It was a great season for the Marching Bulldogs and we are proud of everyone involved.”
