Last year, the Roslyn Blue Devils won the National Junior Baseball League age 13 Central Divisional Championship. This year, under the direction of head coach, Brian Meyerson, the graduated into the 14-year old division. And they ended the season with the same championship result.
On November 9, the Roslyn Blue Devils, won the National Junior Baseball League age 14 Central Divisional Championship. They finished the season with an 11-3 record.
According to Meyerson, the Blue Devils played not only in a different age group, but also in a tougher division.
“The boys worked hard and played in some extreme cold weather, especially the last weekend, but always had smiles on their faces,” Meyerson told The Roslyn News. “They went into the last weekend having to win just one game of a doubleheader; but they ended up winning both games.
“It is my pleasure to coach these boys and hope to keep the team together for as many more years as they want to continue playing together,” Meyerson said, adding that each player is from the Roslyn school district. And those players are: Andrew Meyerson, Benjamin Faber, Robbie Pomerantz, Michael Sands, Steven Bochner, Mitchell Klein, Jackson Rich, Ethan Greenberg, Scott Morgenstern, Josh Liepper and Jared Flick.
