Sixteen-year-old James Wasserman recently proved his tennis prowess as he won two tournaments in two countries on one weekend.
First, he took the Boys’ Under-18 Singles Championship in the Bank of Bermuda Foundation International Tennis Federation Junior Circuit Tournament in Bermuda. On his way to the crown, Wasserman pulled off an upset by beating top-ranked Shaquille Taylor of the Bahama.
Then, upon returning to the States on Sunday, he and a doubles partner won an event in New Jersey.
This Manhattan resident frequently trains in East Hills, the long-time home of his grandparents, Budd and the late Maxine Wasserman. The young athlete’s father is Roslyn High School alumnus Steven Wasserman.
