The Roslyn Marching Bulldogs have had a very busy week. They performed at the Newsday Marching Band Festival at Hofstra University on Thursday, Oct. 20 and then at the New York State Field Band Conference, hosted by Mineola High School on Saturday, Oct. 22. Their fun and energetic performance was rewarded with a second place award in their class. Following an intense week of rehearsals, the Bulldogs will be traveling to Phoenix, New York on Saturday, Oct. 29 for their final competition before taking part in the State Championships at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse on Sunday, Oct. 30.
The band has also been busy with their annual cake and pie sale. It is their biggest fundraiser and helps support all their activities. Arrangements have been made with the Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN) to deliver donated cakes and pies in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Cakes and pies can be purchased or donated through the order form which can be found on the District’s website at roslynschools.org under “Events and Announcements” on the right side of the page.
