Exciting softball games, featuring talented athletes from East Hills and its surroundings began on Sunday, Sept. 18 at the Park at East Hills.
The Mayor’s Softball Tournament Championship game will be held on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8:30 a.m. and residents and nonresidents are invited to attend the festivities and cheer for their favorite team.
This year, the annual tournament contains 8 teams of 11 players each. Mayor Koblenz applauded co-chairs Stew Faden and Peter Wagner of East Hills for “building the competition into one of the finest sports events of its kind. They have both given our community a truly enviable program and on this, the tenth anniversary of the Mayor’s Softball Tournament, the Board and I want to once again express our appreciation for their hard work which resulted in a great success.”
Two teams will face off in the championship game on Sept. 25. One team is comprised of: Joseph Soffer, Sam Lituchy, Rich Lituchy, Mark Baum, Gary Klein, Gregg Zucker, Michael Levy, Steve Yadegari, Eric Richter, Jonah (JJ) Weiner and Steve Kann. The other team features Gary Cohen, Brett Cohen, Jon Kessler, Josh Korder, Bobby Bott, Lee Tannenbaum, Lee Hanfling, Ryan Meyers, Brad Meyers, Jim Stern and Evan Spelfogel.
