Lacrosse Team Wins First Playoff Game

Friday, 27 May 2011 00:00

Last week, the Roslyn Boys’ lacrosse team made history by winning their playoff game against Hewlett, 10-7. With the win, they advanced to the quarterfinals in a game last Monday night at Hofstra University against Garden City.

The triumph over Hewlett was significant in that it was the first ever boys’ varsity playoff lacrosse win in Roslyn High School history. In the game, Michael Lefcourt stopped 20 of 27 shots in goal and David Nauheim had 10 ball controls.

Unfortunately, the season ended last Monday night as the Bulldogs fell to Garden City, 11-6. But the momentum from this fine season should carry over into the 2012 campaign where more lacrosse heroics can be expected.
