Temple Sinai Girls’ Club Celebrates Shabbat
On Friday, Nov 15, Temple Sinai of Roslyn’s Rosh Hodesh, the temple’s girls’ club for students in grades 4-6, celebrated Shabbat at Oh My Girls! in Syosset. They enjoyed a rejuvenating Zumba class and a serenity exercise. Then they made their own healthy smoothies and welcomed Shabbat by lighting candles and enjoying fresh challah.
Oh My Girls! is the first-ever health club designed exclusively for girls, ages 8 -18. Its focus is physical, nutritional, psychological, cognitive and social well being. OMG creates an environment that aims to put the fun back in girlhood while guiding its members toward healthy and successful living..
Temple Sinai’s Director of Youth Engagement, Alison Stamm, offers a positive all-female values-based Jewish experience. Together they have a blast doing art projects, social action, self-defense, and lots of other fun things, all while building a community of trust and kindness. If you’re looking for a safe, affirmative, and encouraging environment for your daughter—you’ve found it. This is a place for her to develop confidence, great self-esteem, and quality friendships.
Temple Sinai regularly offers fun, Jewish programming to children and teens. To find out more, contact Ethel Liebeskind, executive director at 516-621-6800.
