Frank Papa, age 86, passed away in Tucson, AZ, on July 7, 2010. He was born in Manhattan, the son of Anthony and Concetta Papa. He spent most of his life with his late wife Bess Papa in their home in Roslyn Harbor. He was the proprietor of Sav-on Auto Accessories in Flushing. He was a member of the Sons of Italy and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Roslyn Harbor. He was a veteran of World War II serving in both Europe and the Pacific. He took great pride in maintaining his beautiful gardens. He is survived by his current wife, Mary Blakely Papa, his son, Stephen Francis Papa, his daughter, Debbie Papa O’Donnell, his grandson, Drew Francis Papa, his daughter-in-law, Josie Winter Papa, his son-in-law, Daniel O’Donnell, his sister Mimi Califano, his brother, Jimmy Papa and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Roslyn Harbor on July 14. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s name may be made to the American Heart Association at (www.americanheart.org).
