Obituary: Deanna Morton

Deanna Morton of Great Neck passed away in her sleep on Saturday, November 28, 2011 at the age of 69. She is survived by her loving husband Joel, and by her children; son and daughter-in-law Evan and Adele Morton, and son and daughter-in-law Leonard and Dara Morton. Cherished grandmother of Samantha and Lyndsey, dear sister of Cheryl and her husband Alan.

At the point of her passing, Ms. Morton was a partner in InfiniTech, LLC, a public relations firm located in Port Washington, New York, where she created and managed Public Relations and strategic marketing communications programs for numerous health care, not-for-profit, business-to-business, and high technology companies including: the Rauch Foundation (publishers of the Long Island Index), Middle Country Public Library, Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island, Sid Jacobson JCC, The Thomas Hartman Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Lamb & Barnosky LLP, Long Island Fund for Women and Girls, i.park Lake Success, 1111 Marcus Avenue and the Heckscher Museum of Art. She also served on Networking Magazine’s David Awards Committee.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Morton had worked as a teacher and a speech pathologist before joining the Pall Corporation where she provided global marketing, financial and employee communications programs, as well as managing the advertising, public relations, exhibits and trade show functions before leaving to form her own public relations firm, Morton Communications and subsequently Infini Tech, LLC.

In addition to being successful in business, Ms. Morton was a valued leader in her community. She served as Vice President of Temple Sinai of Roslyn and volunteered her time and expertise while working with many other community-related and business-related nonprofit organizations. She was a source of inspiration to her friends, and a remarkable individual who made every client and every person she came in contact with better for having known or worked with her. Her untimely death has left a deep void in the hearts of all those who knew and admired her.
