On last Saturday, Nov. 14, Homicide Squad Detectives from the Nassau County police department reported the arrest of Wilmer Linares of Albertson, on Friday, Nov. 13 in connection with the homicide of Jony Acosta, also of Albertson.
The defendant is charged with Murder Second Degree and was arraigned on Saturday, Nov. 14 in First District Court, Hempstead.
The homicide occurred on Saturday, Oct. 31, in Roslyn Heights. On that date at 10:43 p.m., Sixth Precinct Police Officers were dispatched to Gulf Gas Station, 119 Powerhouse Road, Roslyn Heights, where Acosta, the station clerk, was discovered on the floor of the location suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Acosta was transported to North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset, where he was treated from Saturday until Tuesday, Nov. 3, when he expired. He was pronounced dead at 8:10 a.m. on that date.
