Another Roslyn Gourmet Spot

A wide assortment of yogurt and coffee at Go Greenly

Recently, The Meat House celebrated its first year anniversary in Roslyn as an establishment serving gourmet products. Now, another store offering a high-quality assortment has opened on the other end of the village, on 1502 Old Northern Blvd. in the Harbourview Shoppes mall.

Igor Kaplum and Sa’ar Aniv are co-proprietors of Go Greenly, a restaurant that specializes in high quality yogurt and coffee items. Go Greenly has been in business for over a month and both men are more than happy to be in a village whose customers appreciate an establishment that provides nourishment in an aesthetically-pleasing environment.

Both Kaplum and Aniv have been involved in business ventures, but Go Greenly represents their first foray into the world of retail business. Kaplum currently works as a consultant for a financial services firm, but his mind is also on the attractive establishment in Roslyn.

“We liked the town,” he told The Roslyn News on the decision to open the store in downtown Roslyn. “We like its commitment to historic preservation. There is a great sense of community here, but we also saw a need for gourmet coffee and yogurt.”

Go Greenly’s owners are pleased with the reception the store has received.

“We are happy with the town,” Kaplum said of his new surroundings. “The people like supporting local businesses. They come in and give us advice. For instance, a customer tipped us off about SoulCycle,” Kaplum added about an establishment on the Long Island Expressway service road, a place chock full of potential customers.

Being located in Harbourview Shoppes, parking is not going to be a problem for Go Greenly. Kaplum wants the public to know they are open and eager to serve. He also stresses that Go Greenly, as the name suggests, is environmentally friendly.

“We serve yogurt in compostable cups,” Kaplum said. “Our cups are made from corn starch, not plastic.  Our furniture is made from reclaimed wood taken from 80-100 years old barns.” All this, Kaplum added, has also proven popular with customers.

“We serve 12 flavors of frozen yogurt at a time and we rotate several flavors each week,” he added.  “We also serve fresh non-fat Greek yogurt.  You can enjoy both with over 40 toppings.  We serve a great variety of smoothies.

“We serve a full line of coffee and espresso based drinks,” Kaplum continued. “Our coffee is sourced from Toby’s Estate. Toby’s Estate sources the beans from sustainably cultivated farms from all over the world and the beans are roasted locally in Brooklyn.”

Kaplum is glad that Go Greenly has been welcomed into the Roslyn community. In turn, he wants the store to be involved in various aspects of Roslyn life.

“We are trying to get tightly integrated into Roslyn community,” Kaplum said. “We are already sponsoring a Roslyn High School Environmental Club and a Roslyn High School Fashion show.  Also, we are participating in the upcoming epicurean auction at the Sid Jacobson JCC.  We are looking to do more.”

Go Greenly opens at 10 a.m. seven days a week. It is open until 9 p.m. from Sunday through Wednesday and open until 10 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
