There are so many different things to learn through the Roslyn, Herricks, and East Williston Adult Ed program.  Middle Eastern Dance, better known as Belly Dancing. is offered Wednesday evenings beginning April 3.

After taking Jewelry Basics you could impress your friends and family with birthday and holiday gifts of your own, hand-made jewelry. Let’s Knit! is a knitting class for all levels.  Whether you’ve had experience knitting or are picking up the needles for the first time, this course will provide one-on-one instruction that will teach you what you need to get started or to move on to the next level. Beginners will learn how to cast on stitches. You will learn the knit, purl, stockinette and garter stitches and then progress to the basic ribbing stitches with variations. You will progress to the seed stitch, moss stitch and some cable patterns.  You will also learn how to gauge your stitches to make your garments fit perfectly.  By the end of the 8-week course, you will complete a project of your choice and will learn the techniques you will need to take on more advanced projects.  There are both day and evening classes beginning April 3.

Mah Jongg for beginners – Part I is a series of practical hands-on interactive workshops for new players.  You will learn the rules and strategies necessary to meet the challenges of Mah Jongg in a relaxed enjoyable environment.  Join other beginners to have fun and learn a game that has held the interest of American players for decades.  By the end of this series you will be playing Mah Jongg.  The class runs for five Mondays starting April 15, 9:30 a.m. – 12 noon.  Intermediate – Part II is Mah Jongg for those who have taken Part I, or already have a basic knowledge of the game, and want to learn to play at the next level.  The participants will be provided with guidance while playing the game and honing their skills. Mah Jongg Intermediate-Part II runs on four Mondays starting May 20, 9:30 a.m. -12 noon.
