Bridge Games

• Newplicate (supervised duplicate) Bridge at the Shelter Rock Jewish Center, 272 Shelter Rock Rd., Roslyn, every Monday from 9:30 a.m. to noon for bridge students, new players and social bridge players welcome. Friday Morning Mussar Study 

Come to Friday Morning Mussar Study with Rabbi Andrew Gordon at 11 a.m. Mussar is a medieval and Chasidic study that focuses on Tikkun Middot, the refining of the soul’s traits.  Together, participants will use the Torah, ancient Mussar texts, and the modern commentary of Alan Morinis to focus on character development.  Each month participants will study a different Middah - a quality of the heart - such as patience, generosity, humility, compassion and simplicity. Why Reform Judaism? 

Join Rabbi Michael White at 10 a.m. for Why Reform Judaism?  Participants will study the history, the philosophy and customs of Reform Judaism, how Reform Judaism differs from its Conservative and Orthodox counterparts and some of the fundamental rubrics of Reform Jewish worship. Day Trip To Armstrong House 

The Senior Activity Committee at the Village of East Hills is sponsoring a trip to the Louis Armstrong House and Museum. The day also features lunch. The tour meets at the museum at 10:30 a.m. Lunch at LaStressa restaurant in Manhasset at 1:30 p.m. Cost: $$35.00 per person for residents of East Hills; non-residents: $40.00 per person. On Tuesday, March 19 at 10:30 a.m., The Amsterdam at Harborside will host a Parade of Homes event.

Second Night Seder 

Join the Chai Society at 6 p.m. for the Temple Sinai 18th annual Second Night Seder. Rabbi Michael White and Cantor Sergei Schwartz will conduct services. A traditional catered Passover Seder, catered by V&Z caterers. Featuring: gefilte fish, chicken soup with matzoh balls, tossed salad, choice of brisket with gravy chicken on the bone, string beans, potato kugel, tsimmes, and Passover desserts. Reservations are required and must be accompanied by a payment in full.  No reservations will be accepted after March 5. Cost: Adults $52, children 5-12 $25, children age 4 and under are free. Military Bridge And Dinner

No card playing experience necessary. Teams will win prizes. Groups of less than four will be paired together. Game starts at 7:30 p.m., followed by desert.
