Winthrop-University Hospital's 24th Annual Golf Tournament is scheduled for May 4 at The Creek and Meadow Brook Golf Clubs, and Winthrop is pleased to announce that Mark J. Robertson, director of operations for Phoenix Medical Construction, will be the chairman of the event.
Winthrop's annual Golf Tournament is one of the most important fundraisers of the year for the hospital; last year the event raised a record $430,000 in support of Pediatric and Adult Emergency Services. The participation of community members and hospital supporters is vital to the success of the event, and Robertson has demonstrated the enthusiasm and commitment that are sure to foster an engaged Golf Committee who will help the hospital to achieve its fundraising goals.
As director of operations and founding partner at Phoenix Medical Construction Company (PMC), Robertson oversees the operation of the company's New York office, located in Mineola.
Robertson and Phoenix Medical Construction have been instrumental in the successful completion of many major projects at Winthrop over the years, including the creation of the Serenity Chapel and the renovation of two cardiac catheterization labs, the C-Section Operating Room, the Radiology Special Procedures Room, the hospital's CT scanning facilities, the new digital imaging suite and more.
A member of the Winthrop Golf Committee for the past three years, Robertson also has a long personal history with Winthrop. He was born at Winthrop (then Nassau Hospital), as was his wife Nancy, and the couple's twins - Tim and Kate - were born at Winthrop as well.
Robertson is a native of Oyster Bay, and he and his family now reside in Stewart Manor. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Technology from New York Institute of Technology, Old Westbury Campus.
