The Sid Jacobson Barracudas' first away swim meet this year was against the Stingrays at Oceanside. Both teams were excited with new and returning team members competing against each other. In both the 8-9 and 10-and-under categories, the swimmers were well-matched and the races were very close. Some of the highlights were: Men 9-10, 50 back stroke where Josh Vance pulled into first place by a stroke; Women 8-and-under, 25 breast stroke teammates Marlee Singer and Claudia Brady took first and second place, an almost photo finish and in the Men 9-10 freestyle, Jackson Sugarman and David Katzman swam unbelievably to take both first and second place.

Other notable events were: Women 9-10, 50 fly where Lexi Singer, Marisa Struhl and Morgan Shaw took first, second and third place; in the Men 11-12 100 IM, Greg Rosenthal's backstroke propelled him to first in a sweep, followed by his teammates Adam Struhl and Alexander Vincent, and in the Women, 11-17 200 freestyle, Dulcie Xue (12) and Allison Schefer (13) took first and second respectively.
