In a recent game, the Mineola Chiefs' Maroon Team suffered its first loss of the season, bowing to Farmingdale 13-6.

The game was a tough defensive battle throughout, while the Mineola offense just couldn't get into a rhythm. The first half ended with Farmingdale up 7-0. The Chiefs defense kept the game within reach. The defensive line battled all night as John Clancy, Matt Lafaye, Zak Chorost, Kyle Cunningham and Ryan Eccher kept the pressure on Farmingdale's offense. Linebackers Andrew Cunningham, Thomas O'Connell and Brian Smith along with the secondary of Anthony Preston, Michael Patelano and Kyle Spruill made sure no big plays were allowed.

In the third quarter the Chiefs got on the board. Justin Johnson broke a 58-yard run for a touchdown behind the blocking of Gavin Dowd, Micheal Delio, Andrew Hastings, Teddy Capsis and Lucas Golon.

The score remained 7-6 until there was less than a minute left in the game. With 49 seconds left, Farmingdale scored again giving the Chiefs one last chance to tie the game. However, the Chiefs were unable to complete the comeback.
