Williams Is Luncheon Honoree
On May 20, the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society will celebrate its 45th Anniversary Luncheon at the Manhasset Bay Yacht Club. The Society will honor Dr. George L. Williams, historian, author, teacher and scholar, a former CNPHS trustee and currently Chairman of the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Town of North Hempstead.

Volunteer Award For Jourdan Urbach
Jourdan Urbach, of Roslyn Heights, was named one of America's top 10 youth volunteers for 2007 in a ceremony at the US Chamber of Commerce, receiving a national Prudential Spirit of Community Award for his outstanding volunteer community service. Selected from a field of more than 20,000 applicants across the country, he received a personal award of $5,000, an engraved gold medallion, a crystal trophy for his school and a $5,000 grant from The Prudential Foundation for a nonprofit charitable organization of his choice.

Little Leagues Challenger Division Is Back
Roslyn Little League's Challenger's Division is back. After a few years' hiatus, Roslyn Little League is running a Challenger's Division this spring for children with special needs. The Division is off to a great start! Approximately 10 autistic children, ages 5-10, are playing ball every Sunday morning.
