Filmmakers' Work on Display
On Thursday, May 3 at 7 p.m., Roslyn High School's Film Society will open its doors to the community for the first time for its first Student Film Festival. The Festival program will include student-directed work in such diverse genres as narrative, documentary, "pure cinema" and even a music video.

North Shore Schools Ready for Relay for Life
Once a year, the American Cancer Society sponsors more than 4,800 Relay for Life events in communities across the United States, events at which caring people of all ages come together to remember loved ones lost, celebrate cancer survivors and caregivers, and gain inspiration for the continued fight against cancer. The North Shore School District is joining the effort this year and encourages everyone in our community to come out and be a part of this significant event.

Skate-A-Thon Fundraiser A Success
Allison Heimler of East Hills raised more than $3,000 for the Lung Cancer Alliance at her Hearts of Gold Skate-a-Thon on April 27 at Ice Works in Syosset. The event was dedicated to her uncle Richard Heimler who is a lung cancer survivor.
