Over 100 Roslyn residents gathered at Beacon Church on Friday, Dec. 1 for a Christmas celebration.

Children decorated cookies, made ornaments and even shared a story with Mrs. Claus. Families enjoyed performances, which included talented carolers and soloists, select violinists from Suzuki On The Island School and a living nativity from the children at Beacon.

Over 50 gifts were collected and donated to Toys for Tots to help bring a smile to the faces of needy children this holiday season. Special thanks to the Roslyn Fire Department for escorting old St. Nick.

Roslyn photographer David Heinlein from Picture Window Studios donated his services at the event. Families who attended can visit http://galleries.picture-window.com/beacon to view all images. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of the photos will be donated to local families in need through Project Angel Tree.

"Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening a great success! We hope to do it again next year!" said Megan Gomez of Beacon Church.
