Every Varsity team at Roslyn High School in the fall 2006 season attained the Scholar/Athlete Team Award: boys cross-country, girls cross country, football, boys golf, boys soccer, girls soccer, tennis and girls volleyball. In addition, 165 individual students achieved the designation of Scholar Athlete. This remarkable achievement was celebrated at the annual Fall Sports Awards Dinner on Dec. 4, when the accomplishments of all of Roslyn High School's fall athletes and their teams were recognized. Several hundred students, parents, coaches and other staff members attended the dinner in the high school cafeteria.
Some highlights of the fall season included:
RHS Scholar Athlete Honors • Girls soccer, boys soccer, girls volleyball and girls tennis advanced to playoff competition.
• The girls' soccer team was conference champion and that team also earned the team Sportsmanship Award for their conference.
• Emily Lipari, a freshman, came in fifth in the New York State Championships in cross-country and 10th in the State Federation meet as well. Her times have broken school records in the 5K.
• All-County honors were won by Emily Lipari (cross-county), Leah Seyburn (girls tennis) and Jonathan D'Auria (boys soccer).
