A winning team of professional instructors from Dany Holdstein Two Worlds is working with 13-year-old twins Danielle and Alex Gamelin, the 2007 North Atlantic Regional juvenile ice dance champions, as they prepare for the 2007 US Junior figure skating championship.
These outstanding artistic athletes from Merrick look forward to competing in the prestigious event, which will take place in Cleveland, OH starting Nov. 27 to Dec. 2. Danielle and Alex will perform the original choreography of two-time Olympic ice dance champion Evgeny Platov.
The future Olympiads, who are both honor roll students at the Grand Avenue Middle School, train 12 hours a week on ice with their coach Alexander Esman. Along with their ice training, Danielle and Alex also train intensively for hours at Dany Holdstein Two Worlds Studios at Wheatley Plaza in Greenvale. They hone the elements of ballroom dance, strength and technique under the professional guidance of Latin dance champion Alan Krasilnikov and ballet master, Slava Fadeyev who was a principal dancer with the Korov Ballet.
