Things are looking up for the Roslyn High School Bulldogs.

Last Saturday, the Bulldogs rebounded from a loss to Island Trees to defeat Westbury, 18-8.

The win upped Roslyn's record to 2-4 in Conference III play.

The Bulldogs' victory was built on the backs of a potent running offense and solid defensive play. Both Lydell Wilson and Adam Kaplan rushed for over 100 yards, while quarterback John Combs rushed for 51 yards. Combs also passed for 122 yards on seven completed passes.

Combs got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard in the second quarter with a 12-yard touchdown run.

In the second half, Luke Song's 19-yard run gave the Bulldogs a 12-0 lead they would never relinquish. Kaplan's one-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter closed out the scoring.

Also starring for the Bulldogs was Matthew Liebhaber, who had five catches for 97 yards. Both Wilson and Liebhaber had nine tackles each to spear the Bulldogs' stingy defense.
