This past Sunday, the Mineola PAL 9-year-old White and Maroon Chiefs played at home and were victorious. The 9 White team beat the Inwood Buccaneers 19-14 and the 9 Maroon team shut out the Long Beach Bulldogs 12-0. Both White and Maroon are now 3-1-1.

The Chiefs 9 White team beat the Inwood Buccaneers 19-14 in an exciting battle to the final whistle. The game went back and forth all day, and with two minutes to go in the game the Chiefs were behind in the score 14-13. Executing the 2 minute offense was Quarterback Thomas O'Connell behind sound blocking by the offensive line of Gavin Dowd, Teddy Capsis, Andrew Hastings, Michael Delio, Kyle Facibene and Lucas Golon. After key runs by Brian Smith, Andrew Cunningham and O'Connell, the Chiefs found themselves 4th and goal from the 1 yard line with 14 seconds left. With the crowd on their feet and screaming, O'Connell handed the ball to Ryan Eccher, who dove in for the touchdown and the victory 19-14. Scoring is summarized below:

The Chiefs 9 Maroon team dominated both sides of the ball against the Long Beach Bulldogs and shut them out 12-0. The Chiefs offense was able to move the ball because of great blocking by the offensive line centered by Mathew Lafaye and anchored by John Clancy, Eric McCloskey, Tom O'Dwyer, Danny Gonzalez, Kevin Klimas and quick-footed Quarterback Justin Johnson. The Chiefs defense was fierce and in the Bulldogs face all day with great intensity by Michael Elefonte, Anthony Preston, TJ Kemmet, Nicky Reda, Brian Greenberg and Brendan Sullivan.
