Juliana Curran Terian, president and CEO of Rallye Auto Group, continues to promote the importance of education with the creation of The Peter Terian Fine Arts Scholarship totaling $25,000.

Intended for Nassau County students in pursuit of a degree in fine arts, the scholarship was created in memory of Mrs. Terian's late husband, Peter Terian, founder of Rallye Auto Group.

On Wednesday, July 26, 63 students from Nassau County came together for the Peter Terian Student Art Showcase at the Rallye Mercedes-Benz showroom.

Judges critiqued the students' work, meeting with each applicant about the details of their art. Students gathered for the evening event with invited family members and friends, as well as their high school teachers for support.

The scholarship, funded by Mrs. Terian personally in conjunction with the Nassau County Museum of Art and Wachovia, will award five students in Nassau County with a $5,000 scholarship to the higher education institution of their choice.

Students in pursuit of degrees in the fields of animation, architecture, cinematography, computer animation, drawing and sketching, electronic media, fashion design, graphic design, industrial design, interior design, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture were invited to apply.

Submissions were judged on the students' original artwork and an essay expressing their passion for art, the meaning of their artwork and how they plan to utilize art in the betterment of our world.

The partnership of Mrs. Terian and the Nassau County Museum of Art, with support from Wachovia, has presented students with an opportunity to pursue their dreams, develop their creative abilities and continually immerse themselves in art and culture.
