On Saturday, Aug. 12, a teacher's dream will become a reality when twenty-three Arab and Jewish children arrive on the campus of Buckley Country Day School. The children will attend Buckley camp for two weeks and stay with Buckley camp and school host families.

At the onset of the current conflict in the Middle East, Roby Young, on the Buckley faculty for over 30 years and co-founder of Buckley camp, approached Dr. Jean-Marc Juhel, Buckley's headmaster, with an idea that came as a ray of hope amidst news of desolation.

Young offered to use his ties with Haifa, an Israeli city, to give both Arab and Jewish children from low-income families the opportunity to attend Buckley camp for two weeks.

The response from the Buckley community and other friends has been overwhelming. All 23 airfare tickets have been underwritten and families have offered to host one, two, and even four children.
