Roslyn Public Schools welcome the participation of students in grades 7-12 in the High School and Middle School interscholastic athletics' program. Please note the following dates, meeting times and general information regarding the start of the 2006 fall sports season.

Roslyn High School Tryouts

Monday, Aug. 21

Varsity and JV Football, 7:30 a.m. - at the Field House

Monday, Aug. 28

Cross Country - Boys and Girls - 9 a.m. at the track.

Boys' Golf - Varsity and JV - 12:30 p.m. (bring clubs) in the cafeteria.

Boys' Soccer - Varsity and JV - 8:30 a.m. at the upper field.

Girls' Soccer - Varsity and JV - 9 a.m. at the lower field.

Girls' Tennis - Varsity and JV - 8 a.m. on the tennis courts.

Girls' Volleyball - Varsity and JV - 9 a.m. (Fresh and Sophs) at the HS gymnasium; 10:30 a.m. (Jrs. and Seniors) at the HS Gymnasium.

Roslyn Middle School Athletics

Athletic Physicals (for those students who did not take the June 2006 school physicals or submit private physician's physicals this summer) - Wednesday, Sept. 6 - immediately after school.

Team Orientation Meetings

Thursday, Sept. 7 - immediately after school.

Tryouts Begin

Friday, Sept. 8 - Football only.

Monday, Sept. 11 - all other sports.

High School and Middle School athletes are required to have all necessary medical paperwork on file before being permitted to try out for any sport. Athletic physical examinations are required annually; must be dated after June 1 and must be on the yellow district form, completing the "sports' physical" area. "Parent consent forms" (blue cards) must be completed for every athlete. "Medical update forms" must be completed by the parent for any athlete whose physical was completed before July 21. Eye clearance forms are also required for those athletes who screen 20/200 without corrective lenses and participate in contact sports. All forms are available in the High School Attendance Office or the Nurse's Office. Please be sure that all medical forms are returned to the individual school nurse's office by Monday, Aug. 14 for processing prior to tryouts.
