Allison Heimler of East Hills won gold medals in the junior ladies short and freeskate events at the Nassau county Trophy Cup Figure Skating Championship held at Cantiague Park in Hicksville on May 19-20.

In her first competition of the season after returning from representing the United States as a member of Team USA at the Gletscher Cup in Grindelwald, Switzerland where she placed seventh overall against a deep European field, Allison impressed the judges in both events with her technical, artistic and athletic skills. Wearing a custom made Del Arbour dress, Allison executed double and triple jumps in a three minute free skate progam set to an exciting Spanish musical score against a strong group of local competitors. On Saturday, Allison skated to the moving music of Norah Jones in a two-an-a-half minute highly technical short program choreographed by her Coach Valerie Murray.

Allison is a three-time member of Team USA representing the United States in 2004 and 2005 at international skating competitions in Finland and Belgium.

Allison has been featured in Skating Magazine and was honored last year by the Nassau County Legislature and the County Executive for her contributions to the Nassau County community. In December 2004, News 12 featured Allison as a "Future Champion" during an in-depth interview of how she balances her sport with the social and academic challenges of a young teen.
