The Roslyn Public Schools have received nearly $1.6 million from former Assistant Superintendent for Business Pamela Gluckin, the first payment towards a $4.3 million judgment in favor of the district.
The check that was delivered and deposited on Friday, May 12 was the result of the concerted efforts and close collaboration among the District Attorney's office, the Board of Education's special counsel, Farrell Fritz, and school officials.
In addition, the district anticipates receipt of several million dollars in restitution from other defendants in the coming months. Frank Tassone, the former superintendent, has agreed to pay $2 million and former account clerk Debra Rigano has agreed to pay $780,000. Other ongoing criminal and civil proceedings aim to recover more of the stolen funds.
With the $1.6 million received, the district has so far received in excess of $2.6 million in recovered funds, including more than $900,000 recovered from the district's former auditing firm, Miller Lilly and Pearce.
