For many; for most, the Roslyn schools were the fundamental reason we moved here, to benefit our children. We willingly paid taxes commensurate with the value of the education. We voted with these issues in mind.
It's a new environment; a new awareness; a new reality. We can no longer vote yes with the presumption that spending represents value. If you spend more, you do not necessarily get more.
With higher taxes from the proposed school budget increase, property values will be compromised as the year over year increases will be unsustainable. With no quantitative increase in value, what are we getting? Where is the value proposition? It's time to measure success with accountability and productivity. Many well-meaning educators and parents are looking myopically, when we need to look forward and plan for the future.
Thankfully, there are many talented and skilled individuals in our community. Of those who have stepped up to serve, I say thank you for bringing us your commitment.
I hope you will help me say thank you by supporting the one candidate who brought clarity, transparency, intelligence, productivity and the highest level of financial and business acumen to this district and community. Thank you Jeff Borowick for stepping up and doing what needs to be done for our children and our schools.
