There will be a walk-a-thon to benefit the American Cancer Society on Sunday, April 30, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Roslyn High School track.
During the walk-a-thon, there will be a silent auction with both kid and adult friendly prizes. The prizes include gym memberships, restaurant meals, gift certificates from local community stores and spa treatments.
Roslyn High School students, including Jake Prigoff, a sophomore who had been diagnosed with cancer and is in complete remission, plus Danielle Efros, Liza Becker, and the Roslyn High School Youth Against Cancer Club are seeking walkers, sponsors and donations to make this a successful event.
Sponsor sheets can be obtained from Roslyn High School or can be downloaded from the Roslyn School District website www.roslynschools.org.
Checks can be made payable to Roslyn High School Activity Fund. The rain date for the walk-a-thon is May 7. Anyone who is interested in helping or has questions can contact the high school at 625-6340.
