This Tuesday, May 2 has been set as the sentencing day for both Pamela Gluckin and Debra Rigano, two major figures in the embezzlement scandal. The sentencing day for Dr. Frank A. Tassone is Tuesday, May 9.

On several occasions, the sentencing days for all three defendants have been postponed. Tassone was originally set to be sentenced on Feb. 28, then March 27. Both Gluckin and Rigano were also set to be sentenced on March 27.

However, those dates were postponed and new ones set namely because the office of District Attorney Kathleen Rice is trying to gain more restitution from the defendants. In all, over $8 million was stolen from the district when the scandal was taking place. Last fall, Tassone agreed to pay up to $2 million in embezzled funds, which then-District Attorney Denis Dillon determined was "virtually all the money Tassone stole."

The sentencing will take place at Judge Alan Honoroff's chambers, located in the West Wing on the first floor of the County Court Building, 262 Old Country Road, Mineola.
