Mike Strachman, All-County pitcher for the Roslyn Bulldogs has signed a National Letter of Intent with Fairleigh Dickinson University, a member of the NCAA Division I Northeast Conference (NEC).

Strachman, a senior at Roslyn High School and member of the National Honor Society, has been awarded both an academic and an athletic scholarship to attend FDU in the fall of 2006 where he will be majoring in engineering and on the mound pitching for the FDU Knights. His outstanding mechanics, poise on the mound and repertoire of pitches, including an 88 mph fastball, big breaking curve ball, wicked slider and changeup will make him a valuable member of the FDU pitching staff. To sum it all up, he likes to quote Bryant Gumbel, who once said, "All the other sports are just sports. Baseball is love."
