The YMCA at Glen Cove is hosting YMCA Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This is a nationwide celebration of youth and family health and fitness for children of all ages, which introduces families to special YMCA programs and activities.

There will be activities in the gym, children's loft and pool for parents and children along with crafts, special events and visitors, healthy snacks and more. The morning will start at 10 a.m. with instructor Craig Gibson and his Jabb Kick cardio class for adults.

Yoga instructor Amy Kornfeld will offer a family yoga class from 11a.m to noon and Craig will be back from noon to 1p.m. with Jabb Kick for children and adults, where families can work out together. From 1 to 3 p.m., there will be gym activities, recreation swim in the Olympic size swimming pool, arts and crafts, fire safety, healthy snacks and more. All events are free and open to the public.

The day is also the YMCA summer day camp open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come meet the staff and take a tour of the campgrounds and facility. Summer camp offers sessions for children ages three through ninth graders. Camps include Kiddie Camp, Youth Camp, Too Cool for Camp, Baseball Camp, Sports Camp and Swim Camp. Door-to-door transportation provided to surrounding communities. The YMCA at Glen Cove is located at 125 Dosoris Lane. Call 671-8270 for information.
