Over 250 people filled the Long Island Bar Association to raise money for new athletic fields in Roslyn. The mood was festive as neighbors and friends greeted each other during cocktails. After many months of discord since the Roslyn scandal, it was refreshing to be involved in a neighborhood event raising money to be put back into its schools.

Centerpieces were lovingly crafted out of Roslyn Bulldog uniforms as the crowd settled in for a buffet dinner after a silent auction. A dance exhibition was provided by Roslyn High School's Step Club members and was enjoyed by all. Neighbors, administrators, board members and coaches filled the dance floor after dinner and danced the night away, and many people walked away with terrific raffle prizes. It was great fun for an important cause: improving the athletic fields, as well as the school spirit!

Many thanks go to Steve Shenfeld and his "It's Your Turf" dinner committee for tirelessly working toward bringing the community together in this positive way. We look forward to attending many more events like this in the future.
