The North Shore Boys & Girls Club will be having its annual summer lacrosse camp for boys ages 6 through 13, and girls ages 7 through 15 at the rear fields of the Boys & Girls Club, 200 Glen Head Road, from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
This year's program boasts a completely new staff including Terrence Murray, varsity lacrosse coach for St. Anthony's High School, as well as assistant coach for the 2004 Empire Games, Long Island Team, and an All-American defenseman at the University of North Carolina. Doug Schreiber is the St. Anthony's freshman coach, played lacrosse at the University of Maryland and is an inductee of the U.S. Lacrosse National Hall of Fame.
Any child may sign up for one or both of the weeks of the camp. Week one runs July 31 through August 3; Week two is August 7 through 10, with a weekly fee of $155 per child. All boys must supply their own helmet, stick, glove, shoulder pads and mouthpiece. Girls must supply their own stick and mouthpiece.
Registration for lacrosse will be held on March 27, April 3, 10, 24, May 1, 15 and 22 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the North Shore Boys & Girls Club. There is an annual membership fee of $35 for any and all NSBGC programs participated in for the year. Membership fee is valid to December 31, 2006.
