Jane Gitlin, a longtime Roslyn resident and journalist who championed the cause of breast cancer awareness, died last Friday, Jan. 6 after a long battle with kidney disease. She was 58.

Friends Academy is very proud of all its student/athletes. In addition to the field hockey team making it to the final four in the New York State Championships in the fall, both the girls and boys varsity soccer teams received their respective Conference Sportsmanship Awards. In addition, the girls soccer team captured the Long Island Championship and the girls cross-country team captured the Nassau County "C" Championship.
