"It takes a village to raise a child." In our case, it was the village of Roslyn: Specifically, Bruce J. Wilde of the Roslyn Eye Centre.
Our daughter, Abbey, was busily preparing to return for her sophomore year at college. (Which actually meant partying with her friends, going into the city, and coming home late.) On one of these late nights, Abbey was too tired to remove her eye make-up and, therefore, ended up rubbing them frequently.
Upon waking up, Abbey had a terrible burning sensation in one eye. Because my husband and I were driving down from upstate, Abbey called her friends who advised her to seek out help from the Roslyn Eye Centre. After being examined, (it was a scratched cornea) advised and directed to the local pharmacy, Abbey finally called us. By the time we met her at home, her medications and drops were already kicking in. Abbey boarded the plane the next day practically pain free. Thank you Roslyn Eye Centre for pitching in and being a caring, surrogate parent.
