With its groundbreaking ceremonies already held and some construction work being done on the park project, the Village of East Hills is advertising for contracting work on The Park at East Hills.

The village is currently entertaining bids for contracts to do work on general construction, plus plumbing, mechanical and electrical construction.

The construction entails work on the athletic fields, including tennis courts, basketball courts, a jogging and nature trail, plus playgrounds, a swimming pool, locker rooms, alterations to village hall and the auditorium, support buildings, roads and other alterations.

According to village officials, all bidders and their subcontractors must have "the requisite experience, background, and have successfully completed similar projects [to the Park at East Hills] in size and scope."

Information for bidders, including Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Plans and Specifications are available at the Village Hall in East Hills, located at 209 Harbor Hill Road.

Prospective contractors must also make a non-refundable payment of $200 in order to receive a copy of all the Contract Documents. The bids will be received at Village Hall until 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17. According to village officials, at that time, all bids will be opened and read aloud.

In the coming year, village officials in East Hills hope that the senior lounge will be completed in the spring, with the tennis lounge, the tennis courts, basketball courts, and jogging and nature trails ready by the summer.

In the winter of 2005, the athletic fields, the children's playground, picnic areas, the dog park, parking areas and more landscaping are scheduled for completion. The summer of 2006 should see the construction of the pool and locker rooms.
